The Biggest Pinterest Mistakes I See As A Pinterest Manager

It’s time to go there.

Seeing success on Pinterest is dependent on being consistent, being patient and having a phenomenal Pinterest Strategy.

This week, I have been reviewing many Pinterest accounts and these are the biggest Pinterest mistakes I have found.

The Biggest Pinterest Mistakes

Not posting consistently.

I think this is the mistake I see the most. We get so excited to start pinning and then we fall off. Then we pin for a week, then we miss a month. Working with a Pinterest Manager will guarantee you have a consistent pinning schedule.

Not having a business account.

Not having a separate personal account to a business account. Friend, I love that your Pinterest account has been the home to your studio apartment inspiration since 2007, your party planning inspo and the endless collection of recipes you swear you will make for dinner one day….I love that for you. But that’s your personal account. It doesn’t have to be private but making your personal account your ‘business account’ is a terrible Pinterest mistake. Those pins are not yours. Those pins do nothing to promote your business and sell your products. So please, keep the personal personal, and start a Pinterest Business account. A Pinterest business account gives you access to so many amazing features that I will share in a blog post soon.

Not having optimized boards.

I have a question, what does your house look like? Did you just move in or have you lived there a while? I know when we first move in a house (I just moved 18 months ago), we can have some empty rooms with some boxes. But in time, we need to unpack those boxes, get pictures on the walls, put down that cozy rug and decorate….maybe even paint! Creating boards and not optimizing them is like just having a room filled with boxes. Sure, you can post pins but the optimization (using those Pinterest keywords) is what actually gives life to that board. Those keywords tell the algorithm who to show these pins to. Your board titles and board descriptions NEED KEYWORDS!

Pinning other peoples content.

Do I need to explain this one? Again, IT IS NOT YOUR OWN CONTENT.

Not maximizing the potential of each pin.

If you haven’t already, download my FREEBIE my Pinterest Keywords Checklist. Print it out if you like. Make sure, that every single time you post a pin, you have checked all the boxes with keywords. Keywords are essential to success on Pinterest! Keywords aren't the only way to maximize the potential, think great pin design, obvious CTAs and always, always, include your branding!

Having no clear strategy.

This can affect us in many ways. We struggle to be consistent because we don’t know what we are pinning, why we are pinning it and where to pin it to. A great Pinterest strategy is not only custom to your business but custom to you as the business owner. It is possible to know exactly what to pin, how to pin it, where to pin it and why. Let me show you how with a Pinterest Strategy session.

The ultimate red carpet treatment, with no Pinterest mistakes comes from hiring a Pinterest manager. You don’t have to worry about it. It is all taken care of. From pin design, pin creation, pin titles and descriptions, scheduling your pins, optimizing your pins, your boards etc….it is ALL HANDLED. Every single day, every single month.
