A typical Pinterest account manager will cover the following tasks:
Account set up
Profile optimization
Board creation
Keyword research
Pin design and creation
Pin scheduling
A great Pinterest manager will cover all those and more.
Not all Pinterest managers are Pinterest strategists.
A great Pinterest strategy is custom for your content and your business. Your business is as unique as you are and your Pinterest strategy should reflect that.
These days, most are familiar with the term social media manager. Even within that, the workload/role may vary greatly. Typically, a social media manager is expected to ‘manage’ your social media account/s. This can involve content creation, scheduling, and strategy. It could involve simply posting content you’ve created. It could involve engagement, responding to DM’s and lead generation. The social media manager umbrella is massive!
But, we are here to talk about Pinterest.
So what exactly is a Pinterest Manager?
A Pinterest Manager is someone you hire to run your Pinterest account on your behalf. Pinterest management tasks can range from account set up, Pinterest strategy creation, analytics reports, Pin design, Pin scheduling etc. A Pinterest manager and a Virtual Assistant are not the same thing, I explained it all here.
Here at Amytime, I believe everyone deserves a seat at the table. It is my mission to help small business owners market their business on Pinterest, when outsourcing all of your Pinterest management is not an option.
Let’s be frank. Outsourcing = investment.
In those early days of growing your business, learning where to best spend your time and your money when it comes to marketing is essential. Spending $1,000+/month to hire someone else may not be in the budget. That is okay!
I would much rather you get started on your own doing your Pinterest marketing, take The Pinterest Masterclass, sign up for my emails, consume all my free Pinterest advice found here on the blog or on my Instagram than outsource before you’re ready to do so.
Now that’s out of the way.
What if you are ready to hire a Pinterest manager?
Here are some questions to consider.
What are your current business goals?
Where do you see your business going in the next year, three years, five years?
What is your current content creation plan?
What is your current best seller/most popular offer?
What are your expectations when it comes to Pinterest?
These are just some of the questions to consider before working with a Pinterest manager. By now, you know that Pinterest marketing takes a while to truly get results for your business. Are you willing to wait?
Most Pinterest managers have a minimum 6 month contract for a monthly Pinterest management service. This is mostly due to the fact that it can take a solid 6 months before you really see the results of your Pinterest strategy. Like any marketing plan, it takes learning from the analytics and continuing to make small tweaks and improvements to really know what is successful.
So what to look for in a Pinterest Manager?
Feel free to ask your potential Pinterest Manager if they have experience working with your industry. Some Pinterest Managers niche down to only work with one particular type of business. If you can’t see any client results on their website, feel free to ask if they are willing to share any with you. (See my blog post here to learn more about how not all Pinterest managers are created equal!)
Of course, when considering making an investment in your business, one of the first questions is always the cost. However, keep in mind the investment in time and energy with this connection. Do you feel that this person truly cares about your business? Do you connect with this person? Do you like their communication style? Do they have any testimonials?
A great Pinterest strategy is custom for your content and your business. Your business is as unique as you are and your Pinterest strategy should reflect that.
